The Savory Spoon Catering Company was born in March of 2011 out of my love for people & entertaining. My first job was at Tom & Ray’s Restaurant in Damascus when I was fourteen years old. I worked there all through high school and was taught a strong work ethic. I went on to work in several restaurants while enjoying a dual career in the theatre for several years. I fell in love with the hospitality business while enjoying catering events for my friends and family as a hobby. Once my son finished high school I decided to take my years of learning from countless chefs and event professionals and start my own business! We were welcomed by the Frederick community with open arms and have made some wonderful connections and friendships throughout our first-decade customizing milestone events for thousands of amazing clients. From being awarded Start-up Entrepreneur of the Year in 2013 to catering two mayoral inaugurations and over 500 weddings, we have enjoyed a beautiful start to our story.

The Covid-19 pandemic has served as a catalyst for The Savory Spoon Catering Company to think outside the box and adjust our offerings to fit the changing needs in the community. Instead of large-scale affairs each month, we now focus our efforts on smaller, more intimate gatherings and our new personal meal delivery program. This meal program has allowed us to serve a community looking to stay safe during uncertain times but also value the pleasures of a great tasting food while gathering with loved ones around a table.
